Thank You To Everyone Who Supported Measure M
Vote YES on M to complete overdue and urgent repairs to aging Lompoc schools. Most Lompoc schools were built over 60 years ago. Most classrooms and science labs haven’t been upgraded in 20 years. Each day, thousands of students attend class in aging and deteriorating buildings that don’t meet modern academic, health and safety standards. Many classrooms aren’t accessible to students with disabilities and contain hazardous materials. There are 136 portable classrooms that are falling apart, with structural damage and water leaks.
Voting Yes on M will provide safe classrooms that support quality education so Lompoc students are prepared to succeed in college, careers, and don’t fall behind.

Voting Yes on M will:
-
Repair deteriorating roofs, plumbing, sewer, heating, ventilation, and electrical systems
-
Improve student safety and campus security including fencing, cameras, emergency communications, smoke detectors, and fire alarms
-
Remove hazardous materials from older schools
-
Provide modern classrooms, labs and career training facilities to prepare students for college and in-demand careers in health sciences, engineering, technology, and skilled trades
-
Upgrade older schools to meet current health codes, building safety codes, and provide access for students with disabilities
Measure M requires strict fiscal accountability and local control, including:
-
An independent oversight committee, annual audits, and public spending disclosure to ensure funds are only used for voter-approved projects
-
All funds will be spent on local schools only, and cannot be taken away by the state
-
By law, no money can be used for administrators’ salaries or benefits
-
There is no other funding source for these repairs. Voting Yes on M will help Lompoc schools qualify for State matching funds that will otherwise go to schools in other communities.
